The Selection of Sex and Descent in Relation to Man

fallenmias

…in every visible character man differs less from the higher apes,
than these do from the lower members of the same order of Primates.

Charles Darwin, 1871

The Other claims descent from apes
then acts like a violent monkey.
It pillages, it loots and rapes
performing as Satan’s flunkey.

Its actions bear the mark of Cain;
brandishing cameras, smashing things.
We feel its proto-human pain
yet dread the urban woe it brings.

It tries to justify, with words
its primal carnage, childish rage.
With anthropoid designs deferred
it struts the Darwinian stage.

The higher primate government
rewards them well in ripe bananas
for wrecking their environment
(jungle as well as savannas).

Their mate selection (naturally):
a semi-simian solution:
intercoursing sexually,
to hasten their evolution.

The wombs enlarge—they drop their young
then text their friends while getting high.
They swing from treetops, fling their dung—
while down below the humans sigh.

We have prime examples of wreckage and ripe bananas every day – the latest offering encouragement towards xenophobia by offering grants to small traders to set up in opposition. The ‘foreign’ ones did it without any such aid!

Interesting comment – not sure if I follow.
      Who are the small traders?
Could you explain a bit further… or perhaps say it in sexto/septimosyllabic rhymed couplets for me?

In South Africa a lot of locals are upset with ‘foreign’ refugees from further north who have set up successful tiny businesses to exist. They are beating them up and trying to chase them out. The administration wants to give the locals grants to enable them to compete instead of using whatever it takes to quell the xenophobic behaviour.

OK it is clearer to me now. Are the Northerners from Zimbabwe?
I lived in East Africa briefly during the 70’s/80’s .
Your WordPress moniker takes on a different tone now that I know your nationality.

Zimbabwe and also Mozambique and Nigeria. The poor folk flock here in hopes of a better life, make one, and then are hounded. Of course it is true to say that many make that better life through criminal activity, but the ones being targeted are owners of small shops and stalls etc.

Splendid word pictures and the graphic fits so well! Also, the clever interplay between “getting high” and next line swinging “from tree-tops.” Great to read aloud.
