STONE HEROES

( Penetration / Pauline Murray 1978)

I looked into the hourglass, and watched the grains of sand
I wandered through the latitudes and crossed the strangest lands…

La – laughing, La – loving / reach the promised land
Fa –  fighting, La – losing / lost beneath the sand
Journeys into places no man has ever been
Conquering the continents no man has ever seen

Where time amounts in misery / where treasure’s buried deep
Where no man enters to disturb the king’s eternal sleep

La – laughing, La – loving / reach the promised land
Fa –  fighting, La – losing / lost beneath the sand
Journeys into places no man has ever been
Conquering the continents no man has ever seen

I’m lost in a forgotten world where ancient heroes fell
The Sphinxes guard their solitude, their bodies rot in hell

La – laughing, La – loving / reach the promised land
Fa –  fighting, La – losing / lost beneath the sand
Journeys into places no man has ever been
Conquering the continents no man has ever seen…

MIRAGE

Siouxsie & the Banshees (1978)

I’m just a vision on your TV screen / just something conjured from a dream
Seen through your x-ray eyes, a see-through scene
The image is no images – it’s not what it seems.

My limbs are like palm trees swaying in the breeze
My body’s an oasis to drink from as you please
I’m not seeing what I’m meant to believe in
Your non-excuse for human being…

It’s quite plain to see that I’m playing with me
A photo-fit of loose ends, framed in 3-D
Seen through your x-ray eyes, a see-through scene
The image is no images – it’s not what it seems.

My limbs are like palm trees swaying in the breeze
My body’s an oasis to drink from as you please
I’m not seeing what I’m meant to believe in
Your non-excuse for human being…
